TUCKER CARLSON HAS THE JANUARY 6 TAPES
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has reportedly given Fox News host Tucker Carlson access to thousands of hours of Capitol security footage from the January 6 riot.
According to this report, Tucker’s producers have been granted access to more than 41,000 hours of footage, which they started combing through. It contains multiple angles from all over the Capitol grounds.
On his show, Tucker said:
“We’re going to spend the rest of this week taking a look at it, assessing it as honestly as we can, and we’re going to bring you what we find next week.”
Why this matters: There are lots of conservatives and free thinkers out there who don’t trust the mainstream media narrative about how the events unfolded on that day.
Some believe the riot was instigated by undercover Federal agents embedded in the crowd.
Others think the media has drastically overblown the severity of the “insurrection.”
By the numbers, Americans have softened on how they see the events of J6. According to a poll from Umass Amherst, conducted earlier this year:
49% call it a ‘protest’ – up from 43% back in April 2021.
41% call it an ‘insurrection’ – down from 49% in April 2021.
McCarthy has advocated for the release in the past, telling reporters on Jan 12, 2023:
“I think the American public should see all what happened instead of a report that’s written for a political basis.”

In related news: New court filings in J6 defendant William Pope’s case reveal that undercover D.C. Metro police were embedded in the protests and pushed others toward the Capitol.
