The Trump Organization was found guilty on multiple charges related to criminal tax fraud, as part of a multi-year witch hunt brought by the Manhattan district attorney.

Point of clarification: Donald Trump was not on trial. The business entity was.

The details: The case, brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, accused the Trump Organization of being complicit in a “scheme” to provide executives within the company with job perks like rent-free apartments and luxury cars, which the executives didn’t pay taxes on.

…yes, this case was about nothing more than the Trump Org giving job perks to employees. Something that you’d probably find in most multimillion-dollar firms’ books if you look hard enough.

Fringe benefits: Trump criticized the case on Truth Social, saying:

“Murder and Violent Crime is at an all-time high in NYC, and the D.A.’s office has spent almost all of its time & money fighting a political Witch Hunt for D.C. against “Trump” over Fringe Benefits”

Did they finally “get” Trump? Not really.

The organization will likely face a $1.6 million fine and otherwise continue business as usual.

Big picture: The Manhattan DA spent several years and probably millions of dollars on this case. For what? Headlines – “Trump Organization Convicted!”
