NEW GUN LAWS ARE NOT NEEDED JUST ENFORCE CURRENT ONES INSTEAD
We don’t need new gun laws. We need to enforce the laws on the books.
Prosecutors Dismissed Felony Gun Charge Against Alleged MSU Attacker in 2019
Anthony McRae walked into Michigan State University with a handgun and murdered three students. It’s a tragedy that could have been prevented if soft-on-crime prosecutors hadn’t dismissed his charges in 2019.
Back up: Around 8 PM on Monday Feb 13th 2023, McRae entered the school and opened fire inside the College of Social Science. Three were killed and five were hospitalized in critical condition.
After an hours-long manhunt, McRae was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The left calls for ‘gun control’: As usual, leftists, including Joe Biden, use the tragedy to push for more violations of the Second Amendment. Biden said:
“We have to do something to stop gun violence from ripping apart our communities.”
He’s right. We do have to do something. We need to go after extremist left-wing prosecutors who let criminals walk when they commit crimes.
This tragedy could have been prevented: In 2019, McRae was facing a felony charge for carrying a firearm without a permit. But soft-on-crime prosecutors decided to dismiss his charges.
Had he been convicted, McRae would have been from legally purchasing, owning, or possessing a firearm.
Instead, they gave him probation for 18 months.
So as the left calls for more gun laws, they should instead focus on convicting criminals using the laws already on the books.
