MAJOR DEFEAT FOR FAR-LEFT DEMS

If you’re too far-left for the far-left Democrats in San Francisco, that’s saying something…
San Francisco residents voted to oust their ultra-progressive, soft-on-crime District Attorney Chesa Boudin in a historic recall election. The recall vote comes as the city struggles with shoplifting, homelessness, rampant public drug use, car thefts, and more.
Who is Chesa Boudin? Before becoming DA, he was a public defender. In 2020, with financial backing from far-left billionaire George Soros, he was elected San Francisco’s DA. Oh, and the son of convicted Weather Underground domestic terrorists.
Crime in San Francisco has exploded over the last few years.
Videos of theft and public drug use in the city are not hard to come by online.
The following are crime stats so far for 2022, compared to the same period (1/1 – 6/5) in 2021:
Overall crime is up 8%
Larcenies are up 20%
Assaults are up 10.5%
Rape is up 8.5%
Murder is up 10%
What happens next?
San Francisco Mayor London Breed will not choose his replacement. She’s expected to choose a more moderate replacement, after announcing in December that police would be “less tolerant of all the bulls–t that has destroyed our city.”
Big picture: This election was seen as a bellwether for soft-on-crime, Soros-funded District Attorneys across the country. And it’s the latest signal that Democrat voters’ appetite for ultra-progressive candidates is waning.
