It turns out the rot at Twitter ran deeper than we knew…

Elon Musk fired Twitter’s Deputy General Counsel Jim Baker after he discovered that Baker was vetting, and possibly suppressing, the internal company documents/emails that Musk wanted to be turned over to journalists Matt Taibbi and Bari Weiss.

Musk tweeted:

“In light of concerns about Baker’s possible role in suppression of information important to the public dialogue, he was exited from Twitter today.”

This is the same Jim Baker who used to be General Counsel at the FBI. You may remember him as the corrupt FBI attorney who helped the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign plant the [proven] hoax that there was a secret communication portal between Trump and Russia. He resigned in 2018 and eventually ended up at Twitter.

Back up: Journalist Matt Taibbi released the first batch of The Twitter Files which detailed how Twitter had taken censorship requests directly from the Biden campaign, and “took extraordinary steps to suppress the [Hunter Biden laptop] story.”

Catching Jim Baker: Taibbi explained that a second batch of The Twitter Files was supposed to be released until they discovered that the former FBI hoax peddler was the man vetting their documents.

Taibbi tweeted:
“Over the weekend, while we both dealt with obstacles to new searches, it was @BariWeiss who discovered that the person in charge of releasing the files was someone named Jim. When she called to ask ‘Jim’s’ last name, the answer came back: ‘Jim Baker.’”

“The news that Baker was reviewing the ‘Twitter files’ surprised everyone involved, to say the least. New Twitter chief Elon Musk acted quickly to ‘exit’ Baker.”

What happens next: Taibbi promised that the second installment of The Twitter Files will be released, now that they’re confident that no nefarious actors are potentially suppressing the information being given to them.
