Facebook reinstates Trump with restrictions
After months of speculation, Meta announced that it will reinstate former President Donald Trump’s accounts on both Facebook and Instagram, but the move comes with rigid guidelines aimed at restricting his speech.
Trump was suspended on Facebook and Instagram after the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021 – when all of big tech, colluding with the Deep State Cartel at the Department of Justice, took the dangerous step of purging a sitting President from his online communication platforms.
Meta did not say when Trump would regain access to his accounts, but said it felt the “risk” that Trump posed had passed.
They said:
“We’ve always believed that Americans should be able to hear from the people who want to lead the country. We don’t want to stand in the way of that.”
“We are bringing Mr. Trump back in the coming weeks with certain guardrails, applicable to any public figures suspended for certain violations during times of civil unrest.”
Facebook has lost about half of its value since dumping Trump.
On January 6, 2021, it was worth $262 per share.
Today it’s worth $141.50 per share
Trump responded to the news on Truth Social, saying:
“FACEBOOK, which has lost Billions of Dollars in value since “deplatforming” your favorite President, me, has just announced that they are reinstating my account. Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting President, or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution! THANK YOU TO TRUTH SOCIAL FOR DOING SUCH AN INCREDIBLE JOB. YOUR GROWTH IS OUTSTANDING, AND FUTURE UNLIMITED!!!”
Trump on Twitter: Last November, shortly after taking over Twitter, Elon Musk reinstated Trump on the social media platform. Trump has not used his account since being reinstated.
